True Prosperity begins in the soul of man.
The soul is the seat of the mind, will, and emotions.
The mind (where thoughts originate) is connected to the will (the decision of actions based on the thoughts) and is evidenced outwardly by the emotions (the outward response to all of the above)......
John states in his letter to Gaius his wish for Gaius' total well being.
John said to Gaius, "above all that I wish for you: I wish you properity in all areas of life and I wish you health. As your soul prospers may you prosper equally in all things."
This chapter is important because it expresses the true order of how true prosperity happens.
PROSPERITY IS NOT THINGS
Prosperity is a healthy relationship with Christ, healthy relationships with others, favor with God and man, health in your body, your needs being met (just to name a few)....
Where is the prosperity of a dying man worth billions of dollars?
What about wealthy (monetarily) parents that didn't raise any of their children in the fear of the Lord, and now all of their children are in trouble either with the law, hooked on drugs.......
HEALTH IS DIRECTLY RELATED TO YOUR BODY
Except you make healthy choices both in what you eat and in your surroundings: you will utterly fail in the health department of life.
